College life can be tough if you want to study well. It can be even tougher when you combine your studies with extra-curricular activities, a second job, or a family. In such a situation, it can be very difficult to find enough time for everything, and the need to do homework assignments for different courses can turn into a nightmare that you cannot handle. If you implement the following time management strategies while doing your homework, your efficiency will increase, and perhaps an hour or two of your time will open up for more pleasant things.

• Set priorities.

Write down your homework assignments. Sort them out according to their importance. Do the most important tasks first.

• Assess how much time is required for each task.

It may be difficult for a freshman, but later you will become aware of all the pitfalls that can delay the completion of certain tasks. Easier assignments can be completed faster, and, consequently, can be saved for last.

• Plan your rest.

You should include time to relax in your schedule. It is often necessary to have a break and put things together.

• Do physical exercises.

If you want to perform well, exercise regularly. If your body is fit and you don’t feel tired, the burden of homework will seem much easier to you.
